moc_logo_v2.jpgYesterday I attended the Marketing & Online Communities Conference at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York.

The goal of the conference was to bring together though-leading agencies, corporate marketers, and online communities to discuss marketing challenges – and unprecedented opportunities – in online communities. Bill Johnston of Forum One did a fantastic job at putting the conference together. There were some great speakers from Edelman, Ogilvy, Yahoo!, AOL, Warner Bros. Records and Cartoon Network.

Although the question, “how do we measure online community initiatives,” was not answered in full -John Bell (check out his great blog) gave us an insight into how Ogilvy measures their digital influence campaigns. A personal highlight was David Dunne, Executive Vice President at Edelman, taking time after the conference to share some of his insights and advice with me.

Over the next few days I will be posting my notes from the conference to share what I’ve learned.
